together a wide range of educational resources that may altogether be used by learners, educators, parents and the public in general.

Rich and varied, the multimedia content of the SharedLearningMauritius(RCEA) interface includes texts, still or animated images, videos, soundtracks, PowerPoint presentations, fun activities (quizzes & interactive games) and other computer applications. SharedLearningMauritius(RCEA) also affords users the possibility to download resources and print worksheets in view of enabling learners to consolidate prior knowledge or develop new competencies in their never-ending quest to quench their thirst for knowledge. Distance education is particularly appropriate for this venture into yet uncharted learning territories.

The platform is easy to use and allows users to easily find level-appropriate materials for grades 1 to 6 learners with varying academic needs, areas of interest and learning styles. All the resources available on the site are consistent with the national primary education curriculum upheld by the parent ministry. Moreover, they have been rigorously validated by the platform's moderators and collaborators with the support of colleagues from the primary desk at the Diocesan Service of Catholic Education (SeDEC).

We would here like to point out that due to the very peculiar circumstances in which this platform has been assembled, namely the COVID-19 pandemic and the sudden closure of schools, it has been impossible for us to create entirely by ourselves all the resources that are proposed here. Thus, we have had to embed links to other websites focusing on teaching and learning and that are either hosted locally or abroad (such as Youtube, Pinterest and Khan Academy, etc.).

As far as possible, we have sought permission for the use of copyrighted materials posted here. We are, for instance, heavily indebted to the Mauritius Institute of Education for the authorisation granted to us to access official textbooks worked out in line with the National Curriculum Framework. However, we hope that individuals or institutions will not hold it against us for any unintentional breaches to this rule. We trust that our benevolent endeavour for the benefit and progress of young learners both in Mauritius and abroad will be gauged through the prism of fair usage in this time of global health emergency.

That said, we will give due consideration and act promptly in case any legitimate representation or objection is made to the use of materials posted on the SharedLearningMauritius(RCEA) platform. Please address any such complaints in writing to the following address: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. We apologize in advance in the event that such situations should occur at any one point in time.

On this note, we wish all online visitors a pleasurable and fruitful use of the platform. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have ideas and resources to share to further enhance this online learning experience. And above all, please don't hesitate to talk about and share this tool around you so that as many people as possible may benefit from it!
